Install CyanogenMod 9 ICS ROM Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G

CyanogenMod Team has officially provided a tutorial how to install CyanogenMod 9 CM9 Nightly ROM Android 4.0.4 ICS on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G GT-P7500 model. CyanogenMod 9 rom firmware version update is made through AOSP based custom rom and most preferred by advance Android users. CyanogenMod are fully ripped, fast performing and efficient custom ROM build by developers. Now, Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G users can install Stable CyanogenMod ROM manually on their device. CM9 for Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G is pre rooted and debloated. Most of the features are working fine except the camera function. Developers have already told that that it will be fixed as soon they get their hands on leaked ICS compiled for the model.

This article is only meant for educational and instructional purpose. Do it at your own risk and warranty will be voided.

Pre-Requisites:

1. This article is only for the users who own Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G GT-P7500 model. Please do not try the methods and steps mentioned in this article on any other device or any other model of Samsung.
2. Please ensure that there is at least 70% charge with your device, to reduce the chances of Power interruption during the process.
3. You should backup all essential data’s on your phone, to assure that there is no data loss during the process.
4. Disable all Security programs like Firewall and Antivirus from your computer and uninstall the same from your phone, as these security programs generally tend to interrupt the process.
5. Enable USB Debugging in your respective Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The option of USB Debugging should be ticked.

Install Recovery Mode clockworkmod on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G. You can’t install zip files directly on stock recovery mode. So that you need to install cwm recovery mode in your device.

Step 1. Download below both files into your computer

  • Odin Flashing Tool zip file Here.
  • Recovery Tar File Here.

2. Extract the Odin zip file then you will get odin.exe in the folder.

3. Run Odin application and Reboot your Tablet so as to enter it in Download Mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons together. Release the buttons after few seconds and then press the Volume Up button to enter into Download Mode.

4. Now, connect your Tablet to the PC via original USB cable. Once your tablet is connected then you can see yellow color in ID:COM field. That means your device is successfully recongnized.

5. In Odin, click the “PDA” button and then select the file named “recovery.tar.md5” from your PC you have downloaded earlier.
6. Now, click on the “Start” button to begin the flashing of the recovery. The flashing will complete in few minutes and the device will be rebooted automatically.

Steps and Procedure to Install CyanogenMod 9 on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 3G

1. Download below both zip files into your PC.

CM 9 ROM latest package Here (file name is cm-9-20120702-NIGHTLY-p4.zip and size is 134MB)
Google apps from here.

2. Now connect your tablet to PC via USB Data Cable. Copy both files into the root directory of your tablet SD card.

3. Switch off your tab and enter into Recovery Mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume Up + Power buttons together for few seconds. When the screen turns on release the power button but keep holding the Volume UP button.

4. In recovery mode, you must delete all your phone data for perfect rom working. So that you need select the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘wipe cache partition’ to wipe all your cache data, select Yes to confirm. Once again, select ‘Dalvick cache’ under Advanced option.

5. Now, from the Recovery Menu select “install zip from sdcard” then select “choose zip from sdcard” and then choose the CM 9 ROM cm-9-20120702-NIGHTLY-p4.zip file from SD card you've placed.
6. As soon as the flashing of the ROM has completed, flash the Google apps package by the same method as that of flashing the ROM.

  2. Flashed my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi & 3g, but camera is now not detected, and sim not detected, so 3g not working either. Used latest ics nightly update. Any ideas???

  3. May be the rom still in developing stage. Developers are trying to fix all this bugs next updates of build version releases.
