How To Update HTC Rezound with Android ICS 4.0.3 Custom ROM

Today the article is about How to Update HTC Rezound with Android ICS 4.0.3 Custom ROM. XDA developers are wondering the Android users with its latest updates and firmware upgrade guides. Now it’s the turn of HTC Rezound and it has been blessed with latest Android OS that is Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, the ICS version. It has been named as newtoroot.

This custom ROM is based on ICS 4.0 firmware and HTC UI sense has been removed and now the HTC users can experience sense free UI by using the custom ROM. There are many more interesting updates will come in 2012.

Warning: This firmware upgrade is not officially announced yet and if you want to try it on your HTC Rezound then try it at your own risk. We are not responsible if your phone get damaged during the installation process. Also we recommend you to take a backup of data before going for any upgrade. Before going for the tutorial let us first see the benefits of this ICS 4.0.3.

Requirements:

This update will only work with HTC Rezound. Please don't try it on any other device as this can cause damage to your device for which we will not be held responsible.

Pre-Installation Requirements

• Before starting with the installation you need Rooted HTC Rezound with ClockworkMod Recovery installed.

• Keep the backup of your data so if anything goes wrong then it can’t effect our personal and useful data.

How to Install Android ICS 4.0.3 on HTC Rezound

1. First of all download the necessary ROM zip file from here.

2. Now after downloading, transfer the ROM to your SD Card via Data Cable.

3. Just power off the phone and restart it in the recovery mode.

4. In the recovery mode take the backup of your previous ROM which can be done by navigating to Restore and Backup.

5. In the recovery menu, perform a full wipe as follows

Select Wipe data/Factory reset –> then on the next screen Select Yes , Wipe Data
Select Wipe cache partition–> then on the next screen Select Yes , Wipe Cache partition
Select Advanced from the main menu–>then Select Wipe Dalvik cache –> Yes, wipe dalvik

6. Install the downloaded zip file.

7. Follow the steps to completely install the senseless ROM. (you can work freely now as we have already taken the backup of existing ROM ,so if anything went wrong, no loss will be there at all.)

8. ClockworkMod recovery will now flash the ROM.

9. Now select Go Back option and reboot the device.

10. Okay, it’s all done. Now you will be running Senseless 4.0.3 ICS ROM on your HTC Rezound.

Yeah, Pretty cool phone HTC Rezound is. I have never used it but my friend has the phone and he is now looking for update it with Ice Cream Sandwich.

hello Tim you need take backup your current rom by using rom manager appilication which is available on android market, Go there download the app. So better to take backup all your current settings before flashing or installing any ics roms on your HTC Rezound Device. It will be helpful for you if anything happens to your device you can get back into old state. If you need more information comment here, i will clarify your doubts. :)
