Today, I will show you tutorial how to Install Value Pack Update Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 XXKQB Firmware on Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001. Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 is a new Android Smartphone from Samsung Galaxy S series. But it has got very less firmware updates till now when compared to Galaxy S GT i9000. As promised earlier Samsung has released a Value pack for Galaxy S Plus I9001 with some updated features and bug fixes. This new Android 2.3.6 based firmware version coded as XXKQB. After updating to value pack you will be able to see a lot of changes like you can take pictures while video recording.
It has the latest TouchWiz 4.0 UI, updated photo editor, new kernel with huge ram 364MB, face unlock, improved camera with manual focus feature, Autorotation will work faster and GPU performance was increased slightly. The firmware delivers a score of 3500+ on Antutu Benchmark which is pretty good. Follow the detailed tutorial below to download and install the update.
Pre-Requisite:
1. As the title itself suggest, this custom ROM is meant for only Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 smartphone users.
2. Now, let’s take the backup of your precious data from your device. Although it is not necessary but sometimes it happens and you may lose all your data. So, the data you must take care off are as SMS, contacts, call logs, images, audios, videos, APN (Access Point Names) settings etc.
3. It is recommended to charge your device battery to 80%, in order to successfully complete the process. As this process may consume lot of your battery and you needs to have sufficient battery backup so to avoid all power issue.
4. You must also disable and uninstall the Antivirus from your Computer and device respectively. If you don’t then, it will block the program and updating process in between.
5. Take your device in your hand and navigate yourself to the path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’ to enable the USB Debugging on your device.
Disclaimer: As it is a custom ROM, you should keep this in mind that it is quite risky. So, install it on your own risk, neither we nor developer is responsible for your damage. Also, this can void your warranty on phone.

Steps and Procedure How to install Android 2.3.6 XXKQB Value Pack on Galaxy S Plus I9001:
1. First Step, Download the firmware update zip file from here. Now you need to extract the downloaded package and run Odin in your PC, which helps in flashing.
2. Now, turn off your device to enter into the Download Mode. Use the Volume Down Button and Menu Center Button by pressing and holding both the buttons along with the Power Button. Release the buttons once you see the image with Green Robot.
3. Connect your device to your device via USB data cable. On connecting successfully, Odin will show it on its tool where ID says: COM port box with highlighted yellow color.
4. When it is done, in the Option box you have to choose F Reset Time and Auto Reboot.
5. Then, Click on PDA tab and navigate yourself to select the downloaded value pack file. Choose I9001XXKQB_I9001OXXKP8_I9001XXKPL_HOME.tar.md5 and click on Start to start the firmware update process.
6. After that your phone will restart automatically. So, when it turns off, go to the recovery mode. This can be done by holding and pressing Volume Up button, Center button and Power buttons all together. Keep pressing it for some time till it you see the recovery screen. After that release the buttons.
7. When you get into the recovery main menu, select wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. Then, reboot your Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 by selecting ‘reboot system now’ option.
Congratulation! You have successfully updated the Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 smartphone with XXKQB Firmware on Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware.

you need to remove battery once and put it again then start the phone. You phone will be back normal.

Please install latest kies software on your PC. Try once again if doesn't work better to leave rather than bricking the Galaxy S plus phone.

ReplyDeleteHi my name is harshal and i had downloaded the cynogen mod 4.0.4 beta 5.zip along with gapps
ReplyDeleteand get my gti9001 in recovery mode and install the clockwork mod recovery 5.0.5.4 version .first i install a file which i downloaded along with the rom name root galaxy s plus.zip and installed it and after that i had done a backup of current rom after that i done a data factory wipe the wipe cache partition and a wipe dalvic cache and after that i install the cynogen mod 4.0.4 as soon as it was installed i installed the gapps and after gapps.zip got installed i done a reboot but after a reboot my device is still back in the recovery mode i have even removed the battery but it didnt helped even i tried to restore my previous rom it says complete installation and i rebooted it again i m in recovery mode so please help
have you selected reboot now in Recovery mode. Try to reboot two times in recovery mode and third time you will be booted into Android OS.
