  7. This is a terrific post. Thanks for the tutorial. I followed all steps, and have run into a problem at the point where I install the new rom. I downloaded it from the site linked and put it on my internal memory (both zip file and unzipped files) but when I select it at boot options, receive an 'E:signature verification failed' error. Is this anything you've seen before and can assist with?

    Thanks!

  14. I'll not get into great detail on the trials I needed to get ICS up and running. I used a combo of different pages to get the process right. CWM itself is the critical part to be performed long before ICS is installed. Even rooted, I could not use the version of CWM to flash ICS...CWM had to be updated first, and this was not clearly pointed out in many of the discussions on ICS ROM install pages.

After that, the install was easy...

Issues I encountered after are of concern. While ICS worked fine with the hardware (no issues I could find outside of external memory being mapped to a different spot in the directory structure, and something about permission settings (I need to read some on that)...a couple apps would not load and crash...google maps with navigator, youtube as examples of errant crashing.

Other apps like aCar...because of the directory structure, I could not get it to read my saved data...it just did not see it.

But the critical ones for me were Nitrodesk Touchdown, interface issues up the wazoo...no dual pane, upper menu bar icons no longer there. While I could read the contents of email, functionality that I liked previously was completely lost. Similar issues were seen with Astro File Manager.

And Titanium Backup was completely useless...my files are ok, just that it does not recover them...I suspect this might be because of where the external memory is, and perhaps something to do with permissions.

I haven't given up on it yet...but I rolled back to gingerbread for now...I JUST did that before making comments here...I will verify if my backups are good to rule that out...and look at the apps to ensure there is nothing wrong there either...
