Update AT&T Galaxy Note Official UCLF6 Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware

Today our tutorial How to Install Official Android 4.0.4 ICS UCLF6 Firmware Update on AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-I717. AT&T Galaxy Note was touted as gadget of the year by NDTV. The AT&T 4G LTE version of Galaxy Note has also done very well and created huge customer base in USA. Just few days ago AT&T Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 skyrocket users have received the Official Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream sandwich ICS update. It’s really a long time for AT&T galaxy note users again getting a updated version of android ICS 4.0.4. This new Android ICS update is packaged with premium Galaxy Note apps like S Note, S Pen, S Memo, My story and with few bug fixes. No words about when Jelly Bean OS will be available for this device. On this new original stock ics rom the baseband firmware build version is dubbed as I717UCLF6. If you have missed the OTA via Kies or you already rooted on previous firmware. Then below detailed guide will help your with installing update manually.

Pre-requisite:

1. Required flagship AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-I717 device.
2. First ensure that you have created the backup of important files, apps and data. This is really important because all your data are going to wipe up during the installation process and you may not be interested in losing data such as Contacts, SMS, Images, Videos, Songs, Call Logs, Bookmarks, MMS as well as APN Settings.
3. Battery must be charged to at least 70%.
4. Please disable all security suites such as anti-virus, firewall or Samsung KIES.
5. Also Enable the USB Debugging option on your Galaxy Note by navigating yourself to Menu> Settings> Application> Development> USB Debugging.
6. Download and Install USB drivers for AT&T Galaxy Note from here.

Steps and Instructions to Install Official Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware Update on AT&T Galaxy Note

1. Download the stock UCLF6 firmware ROM Package from here to your PC. File name is I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_ATT.zip and size will be 674 MB.

2. After downloading the zip package. Extract it by using WinZip or WinRAR. Once extraction is done you will get I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_ATT.tar.md5.

3. Download Odin3 v1.85 flash tool from here to your Computer.

4. Run the Odin3 v1.85.exe application in PC. When Odin is launched on the screen proceed for next step.

5. Now, you need to turn off your AT&T Galaxy Note device to enter into download mode. You can enter into download mode by press and holding the both Volume Down Key and Power button together until warning message appears on your screen. Now, leave the buttons.

6. Connect your AT&T Galaxy Note to your computer via USB data cable while Odin is open. When connection is done, then ID: COM section under Odin window turns yellow color. If it don’t, that means your device is not detected so check whether device’s driver is installed correctly or not.
7. In Odin tool, Click PDA tab, select the I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_ATT.tar.md5 file, which you have got after the extraction of zip file in step 2.
8. Once the selection is done, click the ‘Start’ button to start updating the firmware. After the completion of the process, your Galaxy Note will reboot automatically and PASS with green color message will appears on the screen.

9. Now unplug your device from the Computer and switch off the device.

10. Once again, boot into recovery mode. For that press and hold Volume Up button and Power button simultaneously .

11. Select the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘Wipe Cache partition’ to wipe cache data from your Note. It will delete all your information that's why you need to backup all important stuff.

12. Lastly, select the ‘+++Go Back+++’ option and then select ‘reboot system now’ to restart your AT&T Galaxy Note.

  1. Yes, problem. Odin will not launch. I get a small window that says 'OK', followed by characters in (Korean?). When I click the 'ok', the program flashes VERY briefly on the screen and is gone.

    Running Win 7, 64 bit. Tried all the same steps on both the desktop (first) and then the laptop (second). Both running Win 7, 64bit. Same exact result.

  3. I have a galaxy note 1 and when i go yo open odin3 1.85 it says player cannot open. Please help!
