How to Get More Ram on Galaxy S CM10 Jelly Bean CM9 ICS ROM

We are already shown up detailed guide for installing Cyanogenmod 10 CM10 Jelly Bean rom on Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000. Today our tutorial is how to get and increase more ram on Galaxy S. Most of users asking this issue, so I decided to help them to bring huge ram on their devices too. Before going to see this procedure you need to know more about Android 4.1.1 jelly bean custom rom. An xda forum member named mtalker has taken initiation for developing this rom in order to surprise the Galaxy S users. This Jelly Bean update rom features with a lot of options new faster Butter Smooth UI, notification center was modified you can simply swipe to left or right to remove that notification and Google Now a virtual voice assistant was getting huge response from android fans. For that you need to tap the voice button and ask your query whatever you like, let’s take example what’s the height of Mount Everest, whether in London and much more. It will give exact answer for your query with in fraction of seconds.

How to Get More Ram on Galaxy S Cyanogenmod CM10 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and CM 9 ICS 4.0.4 Custom ROM.

Make sure that your custom rom is loaded with devil kernel or not. For that you can check Go to Settings->About Phone. Scroll down there you can see kernel version of present rom.
Note: So if your custom rom is loaded with different kernel then you need to change it into devil kernel version.

1. Download below zip files based on your Android OS.

For ICS get here.(file name Devil3_1.0.3-ICS_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120724.zip and you can also check latest kernel version and download it)
For JB get here. ( file version 1.0.4)

2. Copy the zip file into phone sd card.

3. Turn off the device and boot into recovery mode. For that you need to press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power button together.

4. When you enter into clockworkmod recovery mode. Select the “install zip from sd card” choose the kernel zip file which you copied earlier in your phone sd card storage.

5. The kernel flashing process will take 1 min. After that reboot the device. That’s it done now your device is fully working with devil kernel.

Note: The Above process is only for who don’t have devil kernel in their Custom Rom. If you’re custom rom is already loaded with devil kernel that you can avoid above process.

Follow below steps:

1. Download devil kernel config app from Google Play here or you can get apk from here.

2. After installing the app on Galaxy S device. Go to app list section there you can see an icon with devil logo and of that app is devil kernel configure.
2. Open the application there you can get Ram Settings Option.
3. Click on it and it will show you three options of ram CM9 368 MB, XL 391 MB and last one big mem 403 Mb. Select Big mem 403 MB to make it done.
4. On the top right side. Click on setup and it will ask you to save the ram settings.
5. When you finalized the settings it indicates to restart the phone in order to make the changes.

6. After rebooting the device. Open the task manager there you will get 403 MB of Ram.
Finally you unlocked more ram on Galaxy S Device running Cyanogenmod 10 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM.

    Ram was reserved for GPU, video playing, internal apps and other resources.

    Sorry you can't increase RAM on Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant stock Android Froyo 2.2 OS. You must installed Cyanogen Mod 9 Android 4.0 ICS in order to expand the ram memory to give extra boast for the device.

    you can try to update your device to Android 4.0 ICS because Jelly Bean is still in development stage so there will be chance of more bugs in the ROM.

    it doesn't harm your phone. But after enabling the more ram some functions will not work properly Video Recording, Bluetooth and Video Playback 720p

    it works on every custom ROM's but only thing you need to have devil kernel inside the device. By installing the devil kernel you can increase the RAM capacity from 364 MB to 392 and 403.

    Hey , after flashing the kernel zip the phone is stuck in a boot loop , i fixed it by restoring my CM10 rom and old kernel , any advice ?

    Which CM 10 Jelly Bean ROM are you using. For fixing the boot loop take out the battery from the phone and keep it back again. Now power on the device the issue will be solved without re installing the CM10.

    click every reboot every time on devil touch recovery. At 4th reboot you will be boot into normal Android OS.

    it keeps rebooting and when I tried to remove the battery and powered it on, like you said, nothing happens.
    I had the latest JB CM ROM... any advice?

    I tried Devil3_1.7.4_Jelly_Helly_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20121017.zip
    with CM 10.1.2 and I get com.android.phone process stopped all the time. It did increased the RAM but the error message keeped poping forever so the phone was unusable..

      Ok i will find working devil kernel for your CM ROM. Meanwhile flash the CM 10.1 ROM again to avoid that the error.

    Works great on my i9000 with ics 4.0.4. The 402 mb were available in task manager even before installing the devil kernel config app from store.It's the lite improvment i needed from my semaphore kernel.
